Yet there is time
Inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s words, The Third Orchestra’s new show, Yet there is time, invokes renewal in a world desperate for change. It calls for us to slow down, listen to each other, embrace our differences, and explore the possibilities.
With clocks, chimes, grooves, and trance, the orchestra celebrates the power of crossing borders—musical, cultural, and human—in a deeply immersive experience where time stops and starts anew.
The Third Orchestra’s global musicians collaborate across time zones and traditions and often invite local artists and musicians to join them on the journey. We’ll share songs, compose new ones, and shape a collective voice for a new era.
The Music
You will hear the exquisite sound of a Chinese erhu blending with the funky bass of India and the elegance of a classical cello meeting the fiery rhythms of Spanish drums. Experience the stunning interplay of the Chinese pipa and the earthy tones of the Palestinian oud. Two remarkable singers—one from Sweden and one from Crete—unite to share the soul and beauty of world singing. As one song proclaims, “we sing in wonder.”
The whole is brought together under the direction of visionary Peter Wiegold. Driven by a long-held dream to create a new global sound, Wiegold ensures that every voice rings clear and true.
The Movement
We hope Yet there is time will inspire local and virtual communities to commission new clocks, music, and ceremonies. Yet there is time is more than a performance—it’s a movement, a collective winding of the clock that reminds us of music's healing and transformative powers.
